LOWELL — The trial of a 55-year-old bookkeeper who is accused of pocketing over $200,000 in cash receipts from the UMass Lowell Recreation Center is expected to wrap up in Middlesex Superior Court today.

Denise Daly, of Lowell, was fired from her job as a part-time bookkeeper and officer manager at the center on Aiken Street in January of 2014, after an audit determined over $217,000 in cash was taken between 2008 and 2013, according to prosecutors.

Daly was responsible for depositing and preparing deposit reports for all cash collected at the center for things like locker fees, guest fees, and towel rentals, according to prosecutors.
